Scholarship Opportunities
The Chick Sanders Memorial Pre-Clinical Scholarship for Excellence:
Thomas (Chick) Sanders was a life-long resident of Butte Montana who had a unique ability to listen to people and understand their problems. The scholarship is given in his name in the hope that the recipients will foster this characteristic in dealing with patients.
The Chick Sanders Scholarship is given to applicants who agree to practice medicine in underserved areas such as rural communities, inner cities and emerging countries for at least three years after Residency training. This scholarship is in the amount of $US 1,000.00 per Pre Clinical semester, totaling $6,000.00
Matthew’s Promise Scholarship.
Matthew’s Promise scholarship is designed to for applicants with a pediatric background or interest, who plan to specialize in Pediatric Medicine, and who are willing to spend some time in research of childhood diseases such as Cerebral Palsy or other neurologically based childhood diseases.
This scholarship is in the amount of $1,000.00 in tuition remission for each Pre Clinical semester, and the recipient must maintain a Grade Point Average of at least 2.7 during Destiny’s Pre Clinical training.
Healthcare Professional Scholarship.
This scholarship is designed to help Healthcare Professionals such as Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Chiropractors, Paramedics, Emergency Medical Technicians, and First Responders, whose goal is to upgrade their skills to the Physician level.
The Healthcare Professional Scholarships are limited to three applicants each per pre clinical semester. Healthcare Professionals from rural areas and other underserved regions are given preference for this Scholarship. Proof of active participation in a Health Care Professional area is required. Recipients of this Scholarship receive $1,000.00 in tuition remission for each Pre Clinical semester, and the recipient must maintain a Grade Point Average of at least 2.7 during Destiny’s Pre Clinical training.
Military Veterans Scholarship.
This Scholarship awards Veterans of any branch of the Military Service from any country, and requires proof of Honorable Discharge, or current Active Duty status, and is awarded for pre clinical training only.
Preference is given to applicants who hope to contribute in some way to Military Veterans, either through civilian agencies such as the Veterans Administration, or by remaining in, or re-enlisting in the Military after their medical training. Outstanding Student Scholarship.
